The mission of the Comanche Creek Trail is to ensure the long-term sustainability and vibrant enjoyment of the historical natural areas by promoting active use, responsible stewardship, preservation, outdoor recreation, community partnerships, and education.
The Comanche Creek Trail Commitee is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization.
We’ve captured some incredible moments on our trail cams, including sightings of deer, a fox, and even our town's iconic roadrunner! 🦌🦊🐦 The roadrunner holds a special place in our hearts, much like the life-size replica that stands proudly in the center of Fort Stockton.
However, last night’s rainstorms brought heavy flooding to the area. As a reminder, Comanche Creek Trail is a flood zone during such downpours, so please exercise caution if you’re planning to explore this Labor Day weekend. Be mindful of the mud, and take extra care to stay safe.

Earlier this evening, multiple small brush fires broke out along the Comanche Creek Trail. We are pleased to report that the fire was quickly contained and extinguished by the Fort Stockton Volunteer Fire Department.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to the firefighters for their swift and professional response. Their dedication to our community's safety is invaluable.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Presumably Arson. Local authorities are looking for any information you may have.
As a reminder, if you see any suspicious activity in the area, please report it immediately to the local authorities. Police/Sheriff
The Comanche Creek Trail is now reopened for public use.

This is a natural occurrence, and while it may affect the landscape of the trail in the coming weeks, we want to assure you that the Comanche Creek Trail will continue to be a vibrant and thriving natural space.
Our mission at the non-profit organization of the Comanche Creek Trail is to maintain and provide a beautiful, year-round trail experience for our community, regardless of the flow of the springs. We're committed to making sure the trail remains a wonderful place to hike, bike, and connect with nature.
On a hopeful note, while taking in the beauty of the trail this morning, we observed wildlife taking in the last bit of the spring water before it dries up. It's a reminder of the amazing adaptability of nature!

From discarded bottles to abandoned wrappers, you tackled every hurdle with determination and good humor, leaving the trail sparkling clean and ready for new adventures.
